EDUCATION

QS Abdullahi Idris Gambo was born some 52 years ago the family of Late Alhaji Abdullahi Gambo and Hajiya Maryam Aliyu in in Kaduna North LGA of Kaduna State, He hails from Kajuru LGA of Kaduna State.

HE started his educational pursuit from Kaduna Capital School from 1980 to 1986 after which he gained admission in to the Federal Government College, Kaduna where he got his Senior Secondary School Certificate of Education in 1991. He got admission in to the Prestigious Ahmadu Bello University in 1991 where he obtained a degree in Quantity Surveying in 1999.

He obtained a Post Graduate Diploma and a Masters Degree in Business Administration both from Kaduna State University between the years 2016 to 2020

He has attended several local and international courses and seminars related to the Quantity Surveying and Project Management Professions.

PROFESSIONAL LIFE

QS Idris is a very active member of the Kaduna State Chapter of the NIQS. He is passionate about the growth and development of the Profession both within and beyond the state. This passion drove him to work assiduously for the growth, development and stability in the Kaduna Chapter where he served dedicatedly in several capacities for more than a decade and a half as a General Secretary from 2009 to 2012, two times treasurer from 2012 to 2016, Deputy Chairman from 2018 to 2020 and Chairman from 2020 to 2022. He has received several awards of dedicated service and excellence from the chapter.

He was the Team Lead of Kaduna for the ICPC/NIQS Executive Project Tracking Group for the year 2020 exercise.

CAREER

QS Idris started his carrier as a Youth Corps member at Waziri Umaru Polytechnic Birnin Kebbi in 1999 where he lectures several courses in Quantity Surveying, because of his Hard work and dedication, he was retained at the Polytechnic after his service year, he Lectured there until 2004 when he left Birnin Kebbi and joined the services of Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic, Zaria in Kaduna State where he also lectured for a year to 2005.

In April 2005, he joined the services of the newly created Kaduna State University as a Quantity Surveyor in the Directorate of Physical Planning and Development where he participated in the successful delivery of Projects too numerous to mention in this short time as they strive together with other professional colleagues to grow the University to its current development state. He stayed there and rose through the ranks to become the 3rd Director in the Directorate, a position he still holds.

A one-time winner of the Vice Chancellor’s award of Hard work, Excellence and Dedicated to duty in 2010.

QS Idris is happily married with is blessed with Eight (8) children.
